The Best Cat Book Ever: Super-Amazing, 100% Awesome by Kate Funk
My rating: 5/5 cats
**this review space is going to be filled with my january project. it will be reposted all month as i add pictures, so get used to seeing it on your feed, and it if bugs you, feel free to block me.
this is the best cat book ever because this is the best CAT ever. and by “best” i mean “most patient.” this is ac the cat (short for “annoying customer”) who is owned by kate funk, a woman with just enough time on her hands. time enough to create elaborate backdrops and costumes for ac
who will pose and endure so that photographic masterpieces such as this can be preserved forever:
because without things like this, our world would not be half as entertaining.
and while sometimes ac has little tantrums
ms. funk, like any great celebrity photographer, knows how to nap out the temporary resistance until her star is back in the mood
and can be photographed once more in all his glory
and since i find myself review-projectless since my dinovember homage, i am going to use this book as the springboard into a new experiment. it is called “how patient is maggie goose?” now, i am making no promises as to how elaborate my own photos will be because i don’t have the time/energy/skill to be fancy, and i know from experience that maggie does not like cameras, but i think it’s time to see a) how much she loves me and b) how much she is willing to endure in the name of art and fun. and me.
no maggies will be hurt during this project, but a karen may get swatted once or twice.
we are starting very small, together.
1/4 – this is maggie with a lampshade on her head.
1/5 – just baby steps as we learn what she will tolerate
and what will end in clawing
how close to her face we can put things
before she will attack them.
and just how long she will stay still with something on her head.
answer – not long at all
i have assigned her some reading material for inspiration and hope for future success.
1/6 – we are still in the early stages of this project, before we invest the time in any construction or elaborate goals
yes, she will tolerate a monkey on her back
but then she will hide for a little while to avoid further engagement
1/7 – okay – this may LOOK like i am shoving zucchinis in her eyes, but i am not.
see? she’s fine! and now she is marking all my books as hers
i think we are getting closer to the point where i will be able to do more elaborate setups. she is pretty comfortable with the camera, and she only sulks sometimes.
and only kicks sometimes
progress!
so i have a new camera now. i will try to start this project anew, but i may have lost momentum.
