On Tour with Leonard Cohen by Sharon Robinson
My rating: 5/5 cats
let’s face it, leonard cohen’s always going to be the coolest guy in any group shot.
this book is wonderful. and it’s simple – just sharon robinson’s personal photographs from the tour – landscapes, portraits, selfies, signs – things that regular people take pictures of for the same meaningful memory reasons regular people take pictures, with the only difference being – she is sharon freaking robinson. and not only does she have one of those voices that can stop your heart, she’s also a pretty decent photographer.
doesn’t hurt that she has access to such exotic wildlife as “leonard cohen in the laundromat.”
again – leonard cohen looks cooler at the laundromat that most people look doing something actually cool.
and look!! that is the times square sign i photographed on many an aifaf! ME AND SHARON ROBINSON TAKE PICTURES OF THE SAME THINGS OH MY GOD.
i have had the privilege of seeing him live four times; wait, was it only four??* it’s all blurred into one long wonderful memory. anyway, i hope i have the opportunity to see him again, but for now, i can always look at these pictures
my (significantly less cool) pictures:
and i will always have the muuuuusic.
so, yeah – a beautiful photography book and a great christmas prezzie.
