APRIL PROJECT IS OVER!!!!

WELCOME TO APRIL PROJECT!!

the title of this book = my thoughts exactly. however, i’m not ready to take on another cooking project right away, and i had fun with the other ‘rude animal’ coloring book last year: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show…, so when this one crossed my path, i decided to check it out, and the very first page i turned to pretty much decided the matter for me. these aren’t all animal-based, and there aren’t as many awesome ones as the other book, but there are enough that this project shouldn’t be a bust.

so here we go, starting with the very one that convinced me i needed this book in my life:

APRIL 1

how you gonna say ‘no’ to this guy, right? i need to improve my coloring steez, but it’s only day one. it’ll get better.

APRIL 2

foxenfarts!! nature fact: a fox will always own it when it passes gas.

APRIL 3

so that’s where they went!

APRIL 4

take that, bird!!!

APRIL 5

i am one of life’s colorful suckers.

APRIL 6

and it’s actually raining today, so VERY appropriate! although i prefer my parades rainy, so no complaints from me…

APRIL 7

looking at the squinty eyes on this pig, we’re pretty sure what ‘tea’ means…

APRIL 8

i have done the work of singling out the soon-to-be-departed for you. pay your respects now. you know what else will probably be dead tomorrow? my markers. they’re already getting all patchy, and they’re not even old! thanks, marker industry.

APRIL 9

this is true, but if something with this many colors comes at you, run…

APRIL 10

this is true of most days. sorry about the quality of photography. the general blowiness of days is making things difficult.

APRIL 11

fruit, flowers, leaves. not as fun as animals, but we’ll make do.

APRIL 12

such cruelty from a little amish mousie!

APRIL 13

this is one of those ‘water is wet’ facts that doesn’t even need to be said, but when said, might as well be said with jazzy colors.

APRIL 14

here, i have combined markers AND colored pencils in one bold move, changing the possibilities of the visual arts forever. suck it, warhol.

APRIL 15

a much-needed update of the classic motivational poster.

APRIL 16

and that’s the story of easter.

APRIL 17

but at least you use the apostrophe correctly.

APRIL 18

this is all wild speculation. you may be completely unloved.

APRIL 19

suspicious owl is very suspicious

APRIL 20

this drawing brought to you by sharpies. man, you can color FAST when you use sharpies!!!

APRIL 21

you guys, what’s a ‘fu?’ blink. blink.

APRIL 22

this picture made me laugh, because meow mix – a manhattan lesbian bar that SADLY no longer exists, used to serve a drink called the rainbow. it looked like this:

and it tasted like candy.

i drank many of them in my day, but never once did a rainbow make me barf.

APRIL 23

welcome back, charlotte!

APRIL 24

this is kind of creepy. are people usually watching me drink? where are these spies hiding?

APRIL 25

let’s be honest – in the real world, i would have licked all of them. no cupcakes for you, germophobes!

APRIL 26

this almost didn’t happen tonight – halfway through my coloring, i turned my back and first there was clawing

and then napping

but i made it through, holding the ripped-up part down. NAUGHTY MAGGIE!

APRIL 27

thank you, coloring book, for realizing that some nights i am too tired/busy to color in teeny tiny detail-heavy pictures. this was a gift.

APRIL 28

one man’s junk, another man’s candycolored elephant yadda yadda….

TWO MORE DAYS!

APRIL 29

this one is great because of all the vagina dentatas hidden within

go away, or else…

APRIL 30

and that’s that, nerds! i hope you had a happy april, full of color and cussin’!

this feels gauche, but when i announced i was starting a blog, everyone assured me this is a thing that is done. i’m not on facebook, i’ve never had a cellphone or listened to a podcast; so many common experiences of modern life are foreign to me, but i’m certainly struggling financially, so if this is how the world works now, i’d be foolish to pass it up. any support will be received with equal parts gratitude and bewilderment.
