how could anyone let this book go out of print?

full of haunting illustrations depicting what the city gets up to after hours, along with equally haunting words, this book has definite appeal to fans of chris van allsburg.

monkeys escape from paintings:

a ghost cab rides through deserted streets:

this one is my favorite – a car full of ghostly subway riders:

i mean, you can see how beautiful these are, right? i am not incorrect.

i’m just saying, penguin – don’t drop the ball with this book. it is one of the best picture books i have ever seen, and for it to be out of print is unacceptable.

i will not accept it!!

this feels gauche, but when i announced i was starting a blog, everyone assured me this is a thing that is done. i’m not on facebook, i’ve never had a cellphone or listened to a podcast; so many common experiences of modern life are foreign to me, but i’m certainly struggling financially, so if this is how the world works now, i’d be foolish to pass it up. any support will be received with equal parts gratitude and bewilderment.
