WELCOME TO OCTOBER PROJECT!! OCTOBER PROJECT IS OVER!!

remember nguyen i did this lady’s first three books as monthly projects?? well, this is her fourth, and since it’s SPOOKTOBER, i thought it would be a good time to do her SCAAAAARIEST book of all—l’il beasties! your girl’s going to be working 7 days a week from here on out, so i might get too sleepy for beasties some nights, but i’m going to try my darndest to stay on track. TRY NOT TO BE TOO SCARED OF THE CUTE MONSTERS!

OCTOBER 1: NESSIE

A nessie is a shy water creature that likes to chill among the seaweed. Although it is bright pink, it is difficult to spot because it swims fast and is good at playing hide-and-seek.

here is her scary lake monster

and here are the ones i drew

fun fact: for years, i thought this creature’s name was bessie. i knew she was the loch NESS monster, but i thought her name was ‘bessie the loch ness monster’ because i am a dum dum. are you SCARED of my ignorance?

OCTOBER 2: GHOST OWL

The only thing really spooky about the ghost owl is its skull face, because underneath it is a sweet friend.

OCTOBER 3: GOOP MONSTER

The goop monster is a slimy blob wrapped around a white mask. Since it is sensitive to the light, it has night vision and lives in a cave.

hers:

OCTOBER 4: LONG-LEG AL

A long-leg al is the most friendly swamp creature you’ll ever meet. Its long legs allow it to walk above the water and greet everyone that passes by.

hers:

mine:

i like my orange sleeping one, but i gotta learn to be less streaky with my markers. so far, these beasts aren’t particularly nightmarish, but the month is young.

OCTOBER 5: FLOOFY BAT

The floofy bat is unique because it has a fluffy coat and a poofy tail. Like most bats, it comes out at night, looking for fruit to snack on.

hers:

mine:

well, now she’s not even pretending to be scarrryyy. ‘floofy’ is perhaps the least scary word in the english language. i’ll take a better picture of mine later. i am beat. zzzz

OCTOBER 6: KRAKEN

The kraken is a giant octopus that lives in the darkest parts of the ocean. It appears at the surface of the water when it wants to hug a ship!

eek—i drew these last night and forgot to post them! i haven’t drawn today’s MONSTER yet, but i will and i promise i won’t forget to post them this time!

hers

mine

OCTOBER 7: CELESTIAL CAT

OCTOBER 18: SKULL PUPPY

The skull puppy is a very playful, nocturnal dog. It has bone armor on its face and legs for protection.

hers:

OCTOBER 19: FIRE PUPPER

The fire pupper is brave and adventurous. When it runs, flames erupt from its body, so you need to be careful when you play with this puppy!

this feels gauche, but when i announced i was starting a blog, everyone assured me this is a thing that is done. i’m not on facebook, i’ve never had a cellphone or listened to a podcast; so many common experiences of modern life are foreign to me, but i’m certainly struggling financially, so if this is how the world works now, i’d be foolish to pass it up. any support will be received with equal parts gratitude and bewilderment.
