i’m frequently torn, when rating books, between rating based on merit, or rating based on my enjoyment. this is probably a three-star cat book, merit-wise. and yet i got totally sucked into it and really enjoyed it, despite its flaws. it’s a very well-paced thriller that requires a certain suspension of disbelief but it was intriguing enough that my desire to finish reading it has made my thanskgiving feast delayed by three hours, so…
