The Megarothke by Robert Ashcroft
My rating: 3/5 cats
that i didn’t love this book was no real shocker to me – you tell me something is lovecraft meets nietzsche and i’m already on my merry way to another book’s embrace. but since this came to me by way of the good people at pagehabit, i felt obligated to give it a chance. and, yeah – it’s not to my taste, because these types of horror novels never have been to my taste, but i can see its appeal to people who like their large-scale apocalypses laced with philosophy and cabals and chittering, metal-jointed creatures who go stab in the night. it’s got some good bloody bits, a wonderful kitty teevee, and what i took to be comic relief in the cockroach version of community theater, but it’s just not my true-love horror match.
all of which makes me 100% unqualified to review it, so instead, i have made a book cover for my own spin on this story, which is entitled THE MEGAROTHKO:
it is about a giant color-blocked canvas that stomps all over town, flattening fans of abstract expressionism. which means i am totally safe.
i’ve also just realized i may have a bright future in the growing field of art forgery. drop me a line if you have any art forging needs: heists, impressing potential mates/rivals, museum-mishap cover-ups, etc…

so many goodies! i might have to show the goodies in action, because this “cable photo holder” intrigues me, but i’m not quite sure what it does…
