WELCOME TO FEBRUARY PROJECT BOOK ONE

FEBRUARY PROJECT BOOK ONE IS COMPLETE! FEBRUARY PROJECT BOOK TWO CAN BE FOUND HERE: BOOK TWO

this book only has 15 projects in it, so i am going to have to do TWO different sticker mosaic books to fill up the month. i am okay with that. onward!

FEBRUARY 1

View Spoiler »

i’ve never done one of these books before, so i don’t know what’s normal. the stickers seem slightly smaller than the places they’re supposed to go, and they aren’t as sticky as anyone would like, but i think it will be a fun project. famous last words? we’ll see.

FEBRUARY 2

View Spoiler »

oh my god. i am NOT going to survive another project that’s 87% bird. please gimmie some mammals, book. please…

FEBRUARY 3

RRRAAAAARRRR I AM HERE TO EAT ALL THE BIRDS!!

FEBRUARY 4

View Spoiler »

why does every animal-themed book i choose for these projects end up being a parade of birds? this book promised “wild creatures,” not “wing’ed demon creatures.” not cool, book. not cool at all.

FEBRUARY 5

ugh, you see how bad these stickers are at sticking? you had one job!! they’re all curled up and wonky. the picture-taking process has become a sort of variation on whack-a-mole (although no moles yet), where i pound or press all the rogue sticker edges down with one hand while positioning the camera with the other and then it’s a race against time. i lost this one.

FEBRUARY 6

I GIVE UP. YOU WIN, BIRDS!

FEBRUARY 7

View Spoiler »

this animal is basically an airbnb for birds. i’m not fooled.

FEBRUARY 8

View Spoiler »

this is the same thing as that other book! even the ones that aren’t birds are bird-adjacent. more fur, fewer wings!

FEBRUARY 9

View Spoiler »

this one’s for you, greg!! i promise it is not a bird!

FEBRUARY 10

whaddya think, you guys, is this one a bird? it’s so hard to predict!

View Spoiler »

i don’t think that one could fly even if it wanted to! far too ungainly. so it’s either a) related to the emu or b) not a bird. further research will be required.

FEBRUARY 11

NOT EVEN GOING TO SPOILERTAG THIS ONE BECAUSE A RED PANDA IS A THING TO CELEBRATE LOUDLY IN THE STREETS LIKE THIS LALALLALLAAAAA

THE END.

only the end of feb 11 – there are still four more pages of book to go. will there be birds?

FEBRUARY 12

View Spoiler »

not birds! but also not mammals, so not anything i wanna cuddle with. plus, the stickers for this one were super-duper tiny, and again – they got started without me. rude, book.

FEBRUARY 13

View Spoiler »

i don’t know why i keep putting these finished products behind spoiler-tags. you guys know this is an elephant.

FEBRUARY 14

View Spoiler »

it’s valentine’s day, sean of the house’s birthday and ash wednesday all at once! what a thing to celebrate! and yet, today doesn’t feel very festive. it is a shitty week and not even kitty stickers can save it.

FEBRUARY 15

i forgot to post this yesterday, probably because i was so stunned that we were finishing off the book with yet another bird. and right now, no lie, there’s a tiny bird hopping around on my fire escape in what can only be a dance of victory. you win this round, bird. off to book two of this month’s project which can be found here.

this feels gauche, but when i announced i was starting a blog, everyone assured me this is a thing that is done. i’m not on facebook, i’ve never had a cellphone or listened to a podcast; so many common experiences of modern life are foreign to me, but i’m certainly struggling financially, so if this is how the world works now, i’d be foolish to pass it up. any support will be received with equal parts gratitude and bewilderment.
